Scarlet Knife Receives Third Consecutive Wine Spectator Award of Excellence
-Acclaimed Latham Restaurant Recognized Again in 2026 for Exceptional Wine Program-
LATHAM, NY — Scarlet Knife has once again earned national recognition from Wine Spectator, receiving the publication’s prestigious 2026 Award of Excellence. The honor marks the third year in a row that the restaurant has been recognized for creating a wine program that enhances the dining experience and showcases a carefully selected range of producers from around the world.
“The restaurant industry is rapidly transforming as diners become more selective about when, how and what they drink. As wine drinkers grow more mindful, restaurants are adapting with creative wine programs,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Chairman and CEO, Wine Spectator. “Congratulations to the 4,012 restaurants that earned a Restaurant Award and continue to elevate the wine experience for guests around the world. We raise a glass to your success.”
Presented annually, the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards celebrate establishments that demonstrate a strong commitment to wine service and thoughtfully curated lists that complement their cuisine. Scarlet Knife joins a select group of restaurants worldwide to receive the distinction.
“Our goal has always been to make wine approachable, exciting and an integral part of the experience guests have when they dine with us,” said James Warren, Wine Director at Scarlet Knife. “We take great pride in building a list that offers both familiar favorites and unique discoveries, ensuring there is something that pairs beautifully with every season and every plate.”
Featuring more than 165 selections, Scarlet Knife’s wine list reflects the restaurant’s commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients. The collection offers guests a diverse range of styles, regions and price points.
The Award of Excellence is one of the three distinctions presented through the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards program, which was established in 1981 to recognize excellence in restaurant wine programs. The award honors restaurants whose wine selections demonstrate quality, balance, and compatibility with the menu.
“Wine and food are meant to tell a story together,” said Chef and Co-Owner Paul Dimm. “Every member of our team contributes to creating memorable experiences for our guests, and receiving this recognition for a third straight year is incredibly gratifying. It reflects the passion, creativity and hospitality that define Scarlet Knife.”
The annual Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards issue will be available in August of 2026. To see the list of winners today, visit WineSpectator.com/Restaurants.
